Compact E-Bike
Compact E-Bikes for Small Spaces
A compact e-bike trades size for storability: it lives in RV bays, dorms, and car trunks where full-size bikes can’t. Two options, both under $570: the JIUYUE T5 350W 14-Inch Folding Electric Bike ($392.80) folds to roughly suitcase size at ~54 lb, and the JIUYUE GT600 500W 16-Inch Fat Tire Electric Bike ($559.46 to $566.90) packs 16×4.0 fat tires and dual suspension into a small frame.

Where Compact Bikes Live
Anywhere a full-size bike doesn’t fit. The use cases are specific:
- RVs and campers: a bike that lives in a storage bay and deploys at the campsite
- Dorms: hallway-legal transport that fits beside a bed
- Car trunks: the “second vehicle” for trips, kept folded until needed
- Boats: shore transport that stows in a locker
- Small apartments: a bike that doesn’t dominate the living room
If any of these is you, a compact bike isn’t a compromise. It is the only format that works.
T5 vs GT600: Two Kinds of Compact
The JIUYUE T5 ($392.80) is the portability champion. 14-inch wheels, ~54 lb, folds to roughly suitcase size. 350W motor, ~374Wh battery (upgradeable to 15.6Ah), 21.7 mph. It disappears into the smallest spaces on this page.
The JIUYUE GT600 ($559.46 to $566.90) is the capability champion. 16×4.0-inch fat tires, 500W motor, ~624Wh battery, and genuine dual suspension (dual-crown front fork plus central frame shock). It doesn’t fold as small, but it rides gravel, grass, and trails the T5 can’t. Available in single-speed or Shimano 7-speed.
The choice: smallest fold (T5) versus most terrain (GT600). There is no wrong answer, only your priority.
What to Check Before You Buy
Folded dimensions vs your space. Measure the RV bay, trunk, or closet first. “Compact” still has a size; confirm it.
Weight vs your lifting. The T5 at ~54 lb is a one-person lift. The GT600 at ~70.5 lb wants a ramp or a strong back.
Range honesty. The T5’s ~374Wh covers 15 to 19 real miles; the GT600’s ~624Wh covers 25 to 31. Campsite exploring eats miles faster than you expect.
Terrain. Pavement and packed paths: T5. Gravel, grass, sand, light trails: GT600’s fat tires earn their keep.
Compact E-Bike FAQs
Will a compact e-bike fit in my car trunk?
The T5 folds to roughly suitcase size and fits most trunks. The GT600 is larger; measure your trunk against the published folded dimensions.
Are compact e-bikes comfortable?
Wheel size sets the limit. The T5 is a short-trip bike; the GT600’s fat tires and dual suspension make it genuinely comfortable for longer rides.
Can compact e-bikes handle hills?
The T5’s 350W manages moderate hills; the GT600’s 500W and 7-speed option handle more. For steep sustained climbs, consider a bigger category.
How much do they weigh?
~54 lb (T5) and ~70.5 lb (GT600). Both are liftable by one person; neither is fun up three flights of stairs daily.
Are they good for RV life?
Yes, this is their best use case. The T5 especially: small, light, cheap enough to not worry about, capable enough for campground runs.
Do compact e-bikes need special maintenance?
No. Standard e-bike care: tire pressure, chain lubrication, battery charging habits, and occasional folding-hinge checks on the T5.
